Obama mocked by Turkey, Bows to Saudi Arabia

Love on the Rocks?  Aint no big surprise…

(TTfD) In a strange twist of events, American “race relation” advocates face the daunting task of picketing the nation of Turkey, whose media has mocked Obama through the age-old Jolson skit.   The following Turkish media offers an analysis of Obama’s speech:

As most Americans do not yet speak Turkish or Arabic, it remains unclear if indeed it was an insult but an homage to the groundbreaking American film The Jazz Singer. It is however believed it is not in honor of the Neil Diamond remake as he is Jewish.

Neil Diamond, Well-tanned Cantor?

Neil Diamond, Well-tanned Cantor?

Media speculation abounds today as how American’s biggest names in “Civil Rights” will proceed and punish the offending nation. What about Al Sharpton?  Obviously Dustin Diamond has a better chance of being granted this responsibility than Neil Diamond does.

But a Sharpton appointment to head the response to this travesty presents problems. While his skills as a racist are nearly unmatched by other self-appointed pundits in America, it is still unclear whether he can point his ire at anyone but “white folks,” or African American women who happen to be conservative.

Here is Sharpton speaking out against Conde Lisa Rice, America’s first African American Secretary of State.

But alas, the problem exists that as a self-professed “Christian” minister can Sharpton effectively speak to a people in the Middle East with many in their midst who denounce the Jewish race and religion? Does he have the fortitude to do to the offending Turkish media what he did to Don Imus?

He probably does, but that doesn’t mean there is any good reason at all to narrow the field of candidates just yet. Many others have striven to become self-appointed racist spokesmen for America and they deserve your consideration.

Well, maybe his Cut Your Nuts off message will carry well in the Muslim community of the Middle East, it is safe to say his apology to Obama was not enough to gain Presidential appointment.

The most likely person to handle our overly sensitive President’s political enemies is his incredibly talented Secretary of State. While multi-talented, it has come to the attention of our TTfD research staff that while she holds a law degree she has never attended a Secretarial College and does not even know shorthand or how to take a letter.

But alas, she was confirmed by Senate. Below is a photo taken during the Bill — a former disgraced and disbarred American president — Clinton reign where she is kissing the wife of a terrorist.

...mmmm...terrorism tastes so good!

...mmmm...terrorism tastes so good!

The reality of what has occurred is really pretty simple. While Obama has wooed the masses of America his charm, height and bare abs were not enough to convince the entire world of his credibility or raise him above criticism.

The world over needs a good laugh every once in awhile, and his bowing in submission to an Arabic leader does not instill confidence in anyone.

Am I bowing or checking out your belt buckle?

Am I bowing or checking out your belt buckle?

The problem America faces with racism is that is has been so over-played that there is little more to say about it.  Racism is real and painful but is also legislated and supported within this country when people allow themselves to be sorted out into sociological “groups” and “titles” by our government.

Barack Obama grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth.  He attended the most expensive private high school in the nation and had his college funded by others.  His success is his own as he has earned it, but his charmed life greatly removes him from the experiences of lower and middle class American minorities who have faced racial tensions.

Race is a political buzzword, whereas President Bush actually had more minorities represented in his cabinet than Obama does.   President Bush saw people as people, and recognizing their individual talents was his motivation for hiring them.

At what point did we as Americans allow the politicians to take away our “Melting Pot” and divide us against each other?  I don’t let them, and neither should you.

America has a true ally in the Middle East, and that is Israel. While Obama seemingly wants everyone to get along and forget about the terrorism of 9/11, Israel faces it nearly every day. The War on Terror is against some crazy people who would attack us simply because we support Israel, and that is something that should never change.

The only way to end terrorism in the world is to end it and kill those responsible for funding it, supporting it and carrying it out. Obama was mocked today in the foreign media because they too know that his apologies for America do not make a difference and the real source of terror is in the hearts and minds of ruthless killers.

Apologizing for being the victims of terrorism only stands to harden the hearts of  those responsible for such evil acts.

We cannot reconcile with people who are motivated by the hatred in their hearts to destroy our ally. We can, however, support Israel and do the right thing.

First of all let us set the record straight, Turkish is NOT a version of the Arabic language, therefore, if you even spoke Arabic you wouldn't understand what is being said on this video.

Secondly, nobody is mocking anybody, nor joking. You really have to speak Turkish & actually be a Turk to understand the true meaning of this guy's speech, but unfortunately I don't have too much time to translate the whole script, however, the reason why the speaker colored his face is because he based his speech on a Turkish proverb "Isteyenin bir yuzu kara vermeyenin iki yuzu" Which literally means "The one who asks for something has one side of his face dark; the one who refuses to give have both sides. Meaning: Put the shame or burden on the side that can give but refuses to do so. The speaker also used another Turkish proverb "Uzum uzume baka baka kararir". Literal translation: Grapes will darken by looking at each other. Meaning: People mature by learning from their peers. People become bad through bad company.

The speaker basically had some requests from the President, and he said I colored my face and I'm asking you to take care of these things, hoping it will not be President Obama who would not give, or pay attention to the serious problems we are facing. The second proverb he used in order to make the point that: you will be treated in accordance with the way you treat us.

    In summary, he says:
Welcome Mr Obama, with the seemingly candid, heartfelt speech that you gave today in Ankara, you have captured our hearts. However, we still have some concerns. America always "wants" something from us, and always "gets" what they want. Now we also have some requests. We have a well known proverb which is enough to explain my present outlook. This proverb is absolutely not used to belittle colored people.

He then goes on to list his requests starting with the PKK problem, then the so-called Armenian genocide, then he talks about Mr Obama's support on Turkey's EU membership and asks him to follow-up and finally he talks about IMF, & asks Mr Obama to give his support on all these issues, so that the proverb won't have to be changed to "The one who asks for something has one side of his face dark; the one who refuses to 'give' is Obama". Then ends his speech by mentioning the second proverb and says US will be treated in the same manner they treat Turkey.. So, if you wish us to remain allies please pay attention to the problems mentioned above..

I didn't make a verbatim translation but hope this helps to give an idea to your readers...
    Thank you.

Your translation is pretty good, but your reading of my text leaves a little
    room for improvement.

I did not say Turkish is an Arabic language. I did infer Arabic into the
sentence because much of the region speaks Arabic. The Obama trip has been
hailed as an overture to the Middle East and Arabic countries, not just to
Turkey. So why leave it out?

You may have not understoof that a great deal of this site is based on the
concept of sarcasm and comedy. I choose to interpret the news in such a way
for entertainment purposes. I do not insist that you do.

I hope in your belittling of me for not speaking Turkish that you did not
miss the overall point that racism is pointless. If you did not, stay
tuned. This is not Turkish news but rather discussion of American news. In
many issues in America, race is a factor of blame; I mock that.

But not to downplay anything you wrote, there can in fact be other
interpretations of what you wrote. Sometimes when two grapes look at each
other, nothing happens. Sometimes, though, one turns into a raisin. Life
is complicated, at least for grapes.

To answer what the commentator had to ask: What has America given to
Turkey? Foreign Aid and Military Aid.

There is really very little America can do about the Armenian Genocide
issue. That is over and done with.

Thank you for sharing, Turkey has a rich and wonderful culture, most of
which was missed by us as the media simply followed the President and had
very little to comment on about the Turkish people.
Understand this is a satire of American culture, not anyone else's.

    Thanks for reading!
    I enjoyed your translation!
