How Can So Many Americans Be Unemployed and These Guys Have Jobs?

Rahmbo

"You never know what I'll say next!"

(TTfD) It’s only Wednesday, and already the Obama Administration has squeezed in enough stupid comments that it appears a whole week has gone by.   Some believe this is Obama evidencing his call for a more “efficient” government, while others are holding out to see if the White House’s “smartest people” aren’t just loony, or perhaps even mentally ill.

Today brings a brief list of “issues” caused by well-educated people who cannot master their use of language, but believe it is ok to attack the mentally challenged (conveniently enough he was talking about Democrats) as “Retarded” and for the President to once again trounce on Las Vegas as a travel destination.

First, Rahm Emanuel knew better.  He had to; Obama, who found time early on in his “reign” to join Jay Leno for a chat, made derogatory remarks that were demeaning to the participants of Special Olympics.

A swift apology to the head of the Special Olympics would have apparently put the President’s distaste for “challenged” people to rest, until this week when it became known that his little friend and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel stepped straight in his tracks. Emanuel, being of small stature, often follows in Obama’s tracks but likely is the one running the country, or at least trying to, when Barack is golfing.

To quote Rahm Emanuel — the possible Shadow President of the United States — “…You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”  He may be regretting this now, as according to ABC News (a Disney Company):

“White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel apologized to the head of the Special Olympics today after the Wall Street Journal reported the fiery Chicagoan privately called a group of liberal activists “f—ing retarded.”

Of course, the sentiment is true that liberal activists have problems, but sadly his diction has offended a whole lot of people, as it is offensive to use the word “retarded” as it has a negative and dated connotation in regards to those who have mental challenges.  Immediately — and by that I mean when he was caught — he picked up the phone to apologize to the head of Special Olympics, convincing more Americans than ever before that this Administration of Change is already out of ideas.

Hopefully, they pointed him to their website on the subject, R-word.org, which exists to actually attempt to educate people on how offensive and downright inaccurate the term “retarded” has become.  I personally have not heard it used since my high school years in the 1980’s.

Interestingly, the site offers a portion of web presence for people to publicly pledge they will not use this word.  While many are signing on to this movement, one comment lingers as an assessment of damage caused by Rahm.

From R-Word.org, this following opinion from a site viewer in Columbus, OH:

“When public figures use derogatory terms, it gives everyone else license. Maybe if their loved ones had to endure being called those names — and seen through the gaze of those names– by peers, teachers, health professionals etc. — they would understand”

This is an interesting reminder that these leaders are to be “role models.”  Parents, whatever you do, don’t let your kids grow up to watch C-Span.

Obama’s latest move:  kill the tourism industry in Vegas.

These are our leaders, the ones we apparently (as a nation) deserved for letting an anti-business Socialist convince us (by us I mean, not me) that buzzwords and slogans were what this country needed. This an an outrage that many saw coming, while others will continue to make excuses for pathetic and immature behavior.

It is moves like this that caused many to say he was too inexperienced — both in life and in politics — to be President. The warning signs existed; the man was a union organizer. Is that not a clue that he would become an anti-business leader?

A mayor of a major city should never be put in the situation to repeatedly have to denounce the idiocy of Obama. He has had to do this on multiple occasions, and the mayor of Las Vegas is a Democrat. But with that in mind, he understands that business equals jobs, and does not want to see his city hurt, or hurt worse due to careless words by the Commander in Chief.

In other news, Obama’s Transportation Secretary — Ray LaHood — stuck his foot in his mouth after causing an amazing amount of damage to Toyota with an ill-informed comment.

LaHood, although once a member of the Republican Party while a Congressman, is an old time crony of Obama and Emanuel from the Chicago days. His gaff, which cost investors a great deal of money, will in the end be brushed off by the Administration too.

Regardless, it is what it is. They are who they are. It is time for Americans remember what makes us Americans and actually start shaking up Washington.  While it has only been one year into his Presidency, Obama was in the Senate enjoying a comfortable Democrat Majority for the two years prior.  Some would even say his “leadership,” along with the Democrat Congress had a whole lot to do with the mess we are in now.

All that is clear to me is that the Obama Administration is doing all it can to keep America from righting itself.

Government cannot fix it, either.  It can’t even talk without a teleprompter.
